Oxford North Community Renewables (ONCORE) is an Industrial and Provident Society which was set up to fund the installation of solar photovoltaic (PV) panels on the roofs in North Oxford.
In the summer of 2011 ONCORE successfully raised over £160,000 for this project and in December 2011 completed installation of 47 kilowatts-peak (kWp) of solar panels on two buildings on the North Site of the Cherwell School. This site will give you all the details of the installation and how it is performing now.
On 15 January 2014 the Oncore board met and formally closed a second share offer, which has raised £130,000 to finance the installation of two solar roofs at a new school in Oxford, St Barnabas in Jericho, as well as a further roof at the Cherwell School. We are delighted to announce that this launch has been a success and will help the local Community to:
- generate clean renewable solar power
- make our schools greener and give them cheaper electricity
- provide funds for low carbon projects
- give investors 4-7% returns
Many thanks to all those who invested and helped to promote the scheme, the panels have been ordered and we will be in touch shortly regarding allocations and your share certificates.
